On Thursday, August 10, Starmark president Peggy Nordeen was named South Florida Business Journal’s 2006 Business Woman of the Year/Entrepreneur of the Year. The awards ceremony was held at the Hyatt Pier 66 Resort and Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. In the audience were 500+ members of the South Florida business community, who were there to honor business women of distinction, finalists and winners alike. Peggy was chosen for her prowess as a business woman and as a community leader in both the civic and philanthropic arenas.

Starmark International’s CEO Dan Estes, aka Chef-Boy-R-Dan, demonstrated his culinary skills in his Emeril-inspired kitchen with a picture-perfect “Paella Valenciana” during a photo shoot for SoFlorida Magazine. He created the colorful dish with the help of business partner and wife Peggy Nordeen, and then served it poolside to dinner guests with very grateful palates. Starmark’s Brett Circe Comes Up A Winner At SFBJ’s 2006 Up & Comers Awards

South Florida Business Journal dubbed Starmark’s Brett Circe the winner of the 2006 Up & Comers Award for advertising & PR. The awards, recognizing outstanding young business leaders under the age of 40, were presented today at a luncheon held at the Broward Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. Before Brett’s name was announced, the judges were quoted as saying, “this winner is the epitome of why we have this award … and it was an unanimous vote.” Gary Press, publisher of SFBJ, and David Dawson, executive director of University Relations, Nova Southeastern University, the program’s name sponsor, presented the award.
