Greater Fort Lauderdale and Starmark Win Three Flagler Awards

This summer, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) and Starmark took home three 2009 Flagler Awards, given out at the 42nd Annual Governors Conference on Tourism. The GFLCVB’s Vacation Planner, out-of-home advertising on the Long Island Expressway and post-election ad were all winners.

In fact, the post-election ad was a real buzz-generator, running in the New York Times on the day after the 2008 election which you may remember from about a year ago. There was literally a line of people wrapped around the NY Times building waiting to buy their copy of the newspaper, which was reprinted in two additional press runs. We can proudly say our client’s ad will remain a part of history.

Featuring a symbolic elephant and donkey relaxing together on a beautiful Greater Fort Lauderdale beach, the ad’s headline read, “There’s one thing all Americans can agree on. It’s time for a getaway.” So true.
